| Model Number | First, let me say I did not purchase this for it’s intended use (Pulling gear behind a bike). However, this product can pretty easily be converted into a really solid off-road stroller (though the instructions specifically state it’s not to be used to carry people).For about an extra $150 I was able to turn mine into a a rickshaw to pull my daughter (She’s disabled, so I needed something sturdy that could grow with her). I’m confident this will be suitable for use for at least another 4-5 years. We’ve used it several times in some heavy Alaskan snow, and its got a very nice ride. It easily handles going over large ice chunks, and I anticipate it will handle rocky trails this summer as well, but will have to update this post when that time comes.Overall its a professional quality item. I really like the tires, they’re nice and sturdy ( I actually didn’t put any air in mine and they’re holding about 35 lbs with minimal flattening effect). I only have two gripes: 1. The detachable wheels can be difficult to insert and remove (I would advise to keep WD-40 available for regular use) 2. One of the spring locks that keeps the wheels in place sticks and sometime needs a mallet whack to unlock. |
| Color | Received the quietkat trailer today, I knew it was going to be in rough shape because the box was so beat up and falling apart at the seams. once opened there isn’t a single piece of packaging inside to keep the metal pieces from hanging around together, no cardboard no foam.Assembling the cart only takes a minute or so as you just have to snap the wheels into place and then attach the sidearms to hold the rear part of the trailer in the position you want, from completely flat, 45, or 90 degrees.I was able to attach both arms in the 45-degree position, but when I tried to attach the arms in the 90-degree position I found the holes that were drilled in the frame did not line up and so I could not insert the pin fully.the quality control on this is way below what I expected for $350. There are simple carts on Amazon in the $180 range and I would have expected it there, but this looks like it was hand drilled; the edges are rough and they don’t line up properly with the length of the side arms in all positions.I left the cart in the 45-degree position, attached it to my bike easily enough and took it for a test run. I put some padding on it and my eight-year-old climbed aboard and I took her around the neighborhood, it pulled easily enough and she said the ride was comfy even though that’s not what the intended use is.Looking at the design I can’t imagine how the rear suspension does anything except add weight, but maybe it helps more than I can tell.Overall I think it’s a good design but with it arriving so banged up and not being able to use the full functionality because the holes don’t line up, it’s tough to even give this three stars at the moment.I could probably drill them out easy enough to line up but there would be quite a bit of play with the pin so I’m going to look at my options before deciding to modify it or send it back. |

The welds themselves look like it was someone’s first time welding.The shocks do nothing but add weight and probably cost. The fabric is coming loose at the edges.
