| Model Number | One thing you don’t see listed is that if your bike were to fall over… the trailer stays standing and safe. Like if your bike we to fall over on it’s side it will not take the trailer with it! It’s so safe! Like little 1 year old was comfortable and had plenty of room for toys and pocket for her sippy cup. She so enjoyed riding with me. Since this is a single seater it doesn’t get in the way of other people you are passing on pathways.Make sure your bike is compatible! I can’t stress this enough. Do not just assume that it is.*Only negatives I have to say about this product are 1. that it smells terrible when it arrives-just be sure to give it time to air out before putting your little or pup in it. 2. The flag is came with arrive broken in the box-not a big deal as they are cheap to purchase.Well worth the money we spent. We did months of research and felt that this trailer was the best for us. |
| Color | I was torn between this and the slightly cheaper InStep trailer – but after seeing so many reviews on poor plastic mag wheels (wobbly) & flat tires w/ the Instep – I decided on this one.Set-up was a breeze. Trailer feels quality made! I was also very happy with the aluminum wheels/tire combination on this trailer, I expected cheap steel rims…I mounted to my Felt cyclocross bike – many people had said that if you didn’t have horizontal dropouts – this wouldn’t work. Ultimately the little “lock tab” doesn’t have a slot for it to sit in – which means if you don’t crank down your skewer tight , the hitch attachment could move up or down with force, but to install the whole hitch attachment piece you have to completely remove your quick release skewer and put it through the hitch attachment. I don’t see how this is un-safe – considering it has a nylon strap that also goes around your rear chainstay area… There’s no way this thing is coming off…Anyway, kid loves it. It tracks straight – doesn’t wobble – and in my opinion doesn’t feel heavy to tow behind the bike (I have a 6 month old…)Looking forward to taking it on the boardwalk on Memorial Day weekend! |
| Material | I shopped all around, read articles, reviews, and even looked on CraigsList. I ended up buying this Schwin Echo Double Bike trailer. I got the double (even though I only needed a single) because the wider trailer seems more stable and roomy. For the price I was worried I was going to be let down, but I was not. I can’t say I’ve experience a lot of bike trailers but here’s why this one was perfect for me:1) My little guy is 3 yrs/old, about 38″ tall and 30’ish pounds. He sits perfectly comfortable in this trailer and I can probably get a few years before he outgrows it.2) It was a snap to put together and looks very nice.3) It has spoked wheels and rubber tires = smooth ride.4) Once setup its easy to get on/off the bike (takes 3 seconds).I’m a weekend rider and didn’t want to drop hundreds of dollars on a trailer I might only use 50 times in my life. I’m very happy with the purchase and would definitely suggest getting this one.It doesn’t have a suspension so it’s mainly for on-road use (not a big deal since most people won’t go offroad with a kid in tow). When I bought this there were barely any reviews on it, so I was a little nervous. So I feel obligated to write this review for other people. It’s a great trailer, especially for the price. No regrets. Not sure why this isn’t way more popular, but I suspect it will be. Hopefully they won’t raise the price for those who didn’t get it yet ;).The only minor downside – which seems to be mentioned in the reviews for most every bike trailer – the kid’s head gets pushed a little forward with a helmet on. The netting in the back is snug so if the helmet sticks out in back it will cause their head to push forward slightly. It’s not terrible or anything, but I just ended up getting a sleeker helmet that didn’t have the big back on it. Now all is good. You also could probably put a pillow behind the child’s back to compensate a little so their head can lean back a little. |
| Power Source | We wanted something to use to pull my 2.5 year old around town with our bikes. We mainly use it to bike to the park on residential streets or along the bike path by the river. We don’t plan on using it on dirt trails or off road. With that said the trailer is very sturdy! The wheels came intact (some reviews said their tires popped immediately) and it seems to be made of good quality canvas. I like how the front is mesh with an optional pull down plastic screen for rain. The back window is mesh too which allows for good air flow. The sides are plastic windows. My daughter is 37″ and with helmet she fits but her helmet rubs on the top of the trailer. Lately we have left the whole flap open to give her more room. This is probably the only season she will use it as she will probably be too big next year. She doesn’t voice that she feels cramped in fact she loves to just sit on it and begs to go for rides. Seems to be a smooth ride and the bottom does not sag when she sits in it. For the price it is a good deal but not sure how it would hold up on rough bike dirt trails. |
